Summary:  The Retail Sales and Service Manager is responsible for leading a team of Retail Sales and Service representatives who are responsible for driving profitable Lowe’s special order and pro sales within a specific geographic area, in addition to servicing the product in the field. As manager, you will coach and work with your team to exceed annual sales budgets. The retail sales and service manager will be a leader and mentor who allocates time to develop their team’s professional skillsets, through monthly coaching calls and regularly scheduled observation ride along calls.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Achieve and/or exceed budget and growth goals for sales team:
    • Oversee budget and goal creation for sales team.
    • Oversee strategy to achieve budget and goals.
    • Increase market share annually.
  • Developing sales team:
    • Coaching the 5-phase sales process and skills used throughout the sales process.
    • Identify team’s professional development needs.
    • Spends appropriate time in the field (40-60%) to observe and assist in sales calls.
    • Sets clear expectations and holds team accountable to Woodgrain standards.
  • Strategic Focus:
    • Demonstrates a strategic perspective.
    • Help set and execute retail national account team strategies.
    • Sets short-term and long-term areas of focus for their markets.
  • Networking and Relationships:
    • Develop relationships with key Lowes leaders and associates.
    • Develop relationships with Lowe’s regional field merchants and store managers within service area.

  • Support the sales team’s effort to ensure customer satisfaction:
    • Effectively communicate the needs of customers to necessary departments including Retail National Accounts team, operations, transportation, and marketing.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field is preferred with five to ten years of sales or management related experience and/or training preferred.
 
Other Skills and Abilities:
The Sales Manager must have a competitive attitude and desire to succeed in a competitive environment. The employee should be skilled at Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They should have the ability to prioritize daily workflow, multitask and meet deadlines. They should have accuracy, discretion, excellent communication skills both oral and written, and attention to detail a must. The Sales Manager must have time management skills, be self-motivated and aggressive, be able to build relationships, and always maintain a positive attitude. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public. This position requires significant travel with overnight stays.  This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license.
 
Supervisory Requirements:
This position manages a team seven  or more outside sales representatives and has direct responsibility for the store service and special order and pro sales within the Lowe’s service area
